The Early Church
A young man was asked to guest minister at a little red brick church at 2105 Main Street in Aliquippa, PA, so he and his wife went to the Aliquippa Christian Assembly (ACA) one June morning in 1980. He preached God's word with a passion, and was encouraged to stay a few weeks longer. Those weeks turned into years. With a dedication to God's calling much stronger than anything the enemy could throw at them, Pastor John J. and Roberta Bannon accepted the offer and began to nurture a small flock of thirteen members. Leading by example, Pastor’s unique teaching style, knowledge of God’s Word, and true ability to make disciples caused people to be drawn to “the old church”, and the ministry at ACA began to multiply. Pastor’s vision was much larger than the little red brick church and in April 1992, the building we worship in today was opened. |
The Church Progressed
For the next 26 and a half years, the one constant through it all was the integrity of our ministry gift – the Bannon Family. Pastor Bannon and wife Roberta dedicated thirty-eight and a half years to continuous, full-time ministry. They served the Lord and our church family with gladness – tirelessly, faithfully and with great compassion. With unmeasurable gratitude, on December 31, 2018, we respectfully accepted Pastor Bannon’s retirement from full-time ministry, and with it we began a new chapter of the uncompromised ministry of excellence that is Aliquippa Christian Assembly.

The Church Today
On March 15, 2015, Jack Robison and his wife Theresa were ordained and accepted the office of Associate Pastors of ACA. Their answer to God’s call is a powerful testimony of faith in action. Theresa started attending ACA in June of 1981. At that time, one of the burdens on her heart was the salvation of her husband and the desire that he attend church. During an argument, he told her to quit praying for him because he was “never going to attend her church”. Even though the struggle was real, she applied the truths taught to her from Pastor Bannon’s ministry. Then, on Resurrection morning in April of 1987, she and her husband Jack went to church; he received Christ into his heart and their lives have never been the same. |
Pastor Jack was saved and trained under Pastor Bannon’s leadership. His dedication to the ministry began many years earlier. He has served for over 32 years as a Sunday school teacher, usher, sound technician, deacon, elder and as the church Administrator. Through it all,Theresa has served right beside him.
On January 1, 2019, Pastor Jack and Theresa stepped into the office of Pastor with unmistakable zeal and love for Our Lord and the ACA church family. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful ministry gift – the Robison family.
We believe in them and are grateful for the promise they fulfil: And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:15 NLT
